Will Momentary Switching ever be available on QC Mini?
To be explicitly clear, youâre talking about momentary footswitch assignments for Stomps?
âŚWhich is a unique problem for the Mini because holding down the switches activates things like the page 1 & 2 switching, the tuner, etc.?
Thanks for replying. Yes I am. Also would it be possible with perhaps an external switch or midi maybe?
I thought that there were no functional differences between the QC OG and the Mini??
Quad has more footswitches so it clearly has different functionality.
Yeah mini has no momentary switching due to limited foot switches
Itâs almost the same. But canât do momentary switching due to the assignments on the 4 buttons. A bummer really .. so close
difference between QC and mini:
Mini requires MIDI for the 2nd Expression Pedal; this may render certain dual XPs unusable
switches activate on âreleaseâ- not press; so no âmomentaryâ functions on Mini
Hybrid Mode/Gig view doesnât mirror QCâs arrangement
Different I/O, MIDI, and Headphone jack configs
No Impedance setting on the Mini
Mini has options of âPower On Modeâ- can be set NOT to power up automatically upon plugging it in. Also has a physical ON/OFF button
MAX INPUT GAIN: +30dB (QC is +60dB)
Thanks for listing all those differences, good to know. Besides the momentary switching issue, I think the modified 4 panel gig/hybrid mode display could be overcome by displaying all 8 panels, highlighting the active group of 4 with a noticeable outline. They could also allow an additional switching method between the A and B group by turning any of the rotary switches by one click, for desktop convenience.
BTW my personal solution for the power-on mode was to pickup a barrel plug switch and insert it inline between the power cord and the QC. I even added a right angle adapter to lessen the chances of the cord accidentally coming out. It all works really well.
