Option for FULL Gig view on QC MINI (i.e. still see all 8 toggles) : Tabletop view

Hey everyone,

I have a QC mini on order and am excited about the smaller form factor. While I completely understand that the Gig Views (Stomp Mode, Preset Mode and Scene Mode) only show four selections per page now (BECAUSE of the reduced footswitches on the unit), it would be nice to STILL show all EIGHT selections with the ability to toggle on/off on the screen itself (as on the full QC).

In this mock-up I made, all eight selections are still visible, but the four on the left (Page I) are highlighted, showing that the footswitches would toggle the highlighted effects.

My request is that ALL eight assignments be seen on one page (like on the QC) and still be able to toggle anything on/off (via the touch screen), regardless of which page of footswitches is ‘on deck’.

For those of us who use this primarily on a tabletop or those using this as an interface for his/her computer on a desktop, it is an extra step to toggle the I/II button. Especially when considering this is a touch screen and the screen is the same size as the full Quad Cortex.

Thanks for reading my request and I hope you will consider voting for this feature.

NOTE:

This could be an OPTION to the current set-up, as some people may prefer 4 per page, which is totally cool. This could be thought of as TABLETOP View

Agreed, as I have posted about this as well.
There are different ways to implement this. Yours is definitely a better option than what NDSP has done IMO. Mine would look something like this, where the inactive page would be in the middle and slightly smaller, maybe a bit darker / transparent. You would still be able to read the windows way better than now. And the ones on the active page would be right next to each FS and remain the same size as they are on the QC.
Also, this would allow for showing a real live tuner, live expression parameters (red arrows), BPM, etc. Many options here. This is just what I did in a few minutes with my very limited technical abilities

Thanks for the response! I definitely get the idea of the setup your are proposing, but I still prefer the idea of basically importing the look of Gig view on the Full QC, but on the MINI.

I just think adding a handicap to the touch screen because of less physical switches doesn’t seem like the best way to go about it. I’m certainly open to all suggestions!

I use my QC in a tabletop format exclusively and I would love the full gig view.

Fair. To me it makes more sense to adjust it to the device. But again, as long as it is optional there are many ways to integrate it. Anything is better than it is now

For sure! My reasoning is adding the QC’s gig view would be a faster implementation.

This is why I haven’t purchased one yet. We need more options. This and programmable footswitches.

Thanks for the input. What specifically would you program on the footswitches?

I would have preset up and down on the right side switches and scenes on the left side switches. Or, I’d have a button that is scenes if you hold it and one that is presets if you hold it.

I completely agree. This is the meaningful setting

I love the idea of assigning preset up and down on the right. If they were to implement the 8 stomp selections on the gig view and preset up and down on the right, it would virtually be the same as my QC now.

Please start a thread for your idea if there isn’t one already.

And a massive thank you to everyone who has voted for this. I appreciate it!

Bumping for new people

Agree, especially as you can use midi to control all 8 so it doesn’t matter that the device only has 4 foot switches. Should just be an option you can enable.

Excellent point. Thank you!

A sincere thank you to everyone that has voted. I’ll be honest that I’m on the fence about my preorder at this point. My gigging workflow is so smooth on the full sized unit that I’m not sure I want the extra step of changing pages all the time.

Having all the stomps visible on one page would solve this.

Totally agree, I’ve raised this issue too, it’s a bigger problem when using Hybrid mode/gig view, as you cannot effectively manage scenes and stomps in gig view. And if you use midi for more scenes in hybrid for example, it simply doesn’t work in the same way as a main QC does. The best option in future would be to replicate the main QC gig view layout to one page in the mini and assign the switches in the exactly the same way. I can’t use Hybrid mode on the mini at all, had to switch it to stomp mode for the scenes and stomps to assign them correctly, so gig view is no use to me either! :face_with_peeking_eye: real pain, as I expected it to work ok. I get you need the A1, A2, B1, B2 etc, but can’t see why they cannot assign it to work correctly and in one gig view page too.

I never thought of it like that. Thanks for the insights!
