When I use the pitch shift on the Wham setting via my ampero 2 press, rather than having smooth tracking like a whammy pedal. It makes a sound like a piano roll.
Plug ampero 2 press into corresponding expression jacks via 2 TRS cables
Configure Heel down and toe down pitches on Expression setup window of WHAM block
Use the expression pedal on the active effect and listen to the smoothness of the pitch tracking
When I do adjust the pitch of the signal, I expect it to have a smooth glide like a traditional whammy pedal.
I have tried checking the calibration of EXP 1 and 2
I have tried spraying contact cleaner in the pot of the Ampero 2 press
I have tried swapping EXP ports
I have tried adjusting Midi settings (non have an effect)
It’s not a bug, it’s just not assigned to the correct setting. I think you want to assign XP1 to the ‘Pedal’ parameter (I’ll check as soon as I’m able, but I think that’ll solve your issue)
I wouldn’t assign the XP to those settings, no. Once you set their parameters in Device editing menu, you don’t have to assign the XP to them. You only assign the XP to the ‘Pedal’ setting.
(assigning the toe/heel pitch values to the XP is for when you want a SPECIFIC pitch range, not the whole sweep of the pedal)
Idk why there are so many tutorials on youtube saying you have to assign one set of the Heel/Toe pitches to enable the effect it kills the vibe of the whammy when you have that midi piano roll type effect.
I went through sweetwater customer service, every forum I could find, carefully reviewed the setup on some youtube users
You are the first Ive come across to bring up the ‘pedal’ assignment on the Expression assignment menu for the block.
there are quite a few tricky little details that aren’t really covered in the manual or online, so this forum becomes a pretty good resource for tips and tricks we discover over time.
It really was the difference between keeping all my gear as-is or getting caught in loop of Returning, Replacing, Upgrading with Sweetwater.
Because the QC is a newer device, I think that unless you run into a specialist at sweetwater on customer service/tech-line. Trouble shooting is a little dodgy because they may not know the GUI like some more experienced QC users would at the best place to find em. Lol
