USB busses on a lot of consumer PC’s laptops etc can be a bit iffy in my experience. I found using a more ‘reliable’ usb socket, ie one that plugged most directly to the motherboard cleared up the hanging on loading issues related to the app.
Im using a dedicated usb-c port directly onto the mother board. It aint the connection. It QC works as a beauty its only Cortex Control that has a huge problem on Mac. Its software failure not hardware.
I just finished setting up the system clean with just cortex control installed. still very unstable. When it’s a clean install of OS and just CC that’s running it can’t be the Mac. In my opinion …
have you contacted Support@neuraldsp.com yet?
The more users they hear from, the more likely we’ll see the issue addressed if it is something on the CoCo side of things.
I have a 2012 iMac 27" with High Sierra, SSD , 8gb RAM
It works fine all the time, also have Morgan plugin I play wit backing tracks…I could use It LIVE …
Good point. But have tried many options, cables and what not… Sometimes this there are a lot of thoughts around here. Many fans of Neural, I’m a fan to. And been in direct contact with them too… They have I mail, addressed their self that the issue is real. And will be addressed.
Right now Im using a USB-A to USB-C. And found out that it’s sometimes useful to go to the security options and reduce the security of the Mac. And Allow user management of kernel extensions from identified developers.
It works ok now. No problems with the QC unit itself at all, neve had. CC opend more often, sometimes it crashes in the load. And the backup section of the QC can be alittle glitchy…
Maybe Im on to something, maybe Im not. This and a software/hardware update will make it perfect in the near future? All I want is it to work perfect. Because I love Neural QC, and play hours and hours without haveing technical issues interrupt the inspiration and flow.
