Okay, I’ve been working on an idea for how to make this work, and I’m having trouble figuring out if it’s possible to split my signal.
Here’s the main idea
Input 1 > Row 1 (Pitch, Comp, Drive in Loop, QC Drive, Revv D40 Capture) SPLIT> Down to Row 2 and end of Row 1 goes to Output 3 of the QC
Row 2 > Wet stage Cab Effects > Output 4
I need a second split after the Revv D40 that can take me to Row 3 or 3/4 where I can put all my Kill Dry effects for the stereo wet signals for FOH
Outputs 3&4 will go out to a stereo power amp to drive the Wet/Dry stage cabs from Rows 1&2, and that power amp will also have a direct XLR out solely for the dry send off of Output 3 so FOH will have Stage Dry, Stage Wet, Direct Dry, Direct Stereo Kill Dry. Then I’ll use Send 2 for routing all my acoustic patches out to another DI
Is this possible with the current configuration? I’m hitting a road block trying to route a second split after the Revv to Rows 3/4
You can put a Transparent BLend block on row 3 or 4 set to feed signal from the amp capture block. It’ll be mono, but as long as all your wet stuff is after it you should be good.
Will that get everything in front of the Amp Block as well? Want to make sure the stereo wet effects are as close to the direct dry as possible. I’ll go from that transparent block into parallel delays and verbs in stereo. That should do the trick to widen it again, yeah?
What would be the benefit of changing the blend or output? Is blend a dry signal vs the blend block? I’m leaving the output at zero so it just gets whatever I’m sending to the dry cab.
Last question, but for 1/4 inch outputs 3/4, what level should I be sending to the power amp for those?
Thank you for the tip! It’s been a struggle to balance incoming guitar wireless from our fly rack as well. Been using the input meter and A/Bing that with a cable to try and get them close. I’ll try and get that output block reading -12! Is it better to shoot for that on the preset I use to build all my rigs, or should I try and get it reading that at the I/O menu on my 1/4 inch outputs to my Wet and Dry stage cabs? (I lied, I still have questions haha) Thanks for the help!
Some users like to dial in at the I/O to get their optimum levels for the front end. The defaults work fine for me. I wouldn’t recommend adjusting for overall volume at that point though, it’s more for how hard you’re hitting the amps or fx. It’s worth experimenting to see if you like the defaults
Levels can be challenging on the QC as there are so many points that can affect your gain staging. The Output block is a good place to balance levels between Scenes or Presets and avoid clipping
This is all just my opinion based on what’s worked for me the past few years. Hopefully we’ll hear from other users if they have different ways that work for them
