Hey,
Can somebody explain how to do 4cm with the quad mini, routing, cables,…
Kind regards
Can you describe what you’re trying to do with 4CM? Are you trying to use the Mini with a tube amp?
Hey, @DiffractionCircuit indeed 4cm with an amp.
Cable 1: Guitar → QC input 1 (use a row to add effects like compression and drive)
Cable 2: QC output 3 → amplifier input
Cable 3: Amplifier effects loop send → QC input 2 (use a different row to add effects like modulation, delay, reverb)*
Cable 4: QC output 4 → amplifier effects loop return
A few things to remember:
-
You can also use the QC’s FX send and return jacks instead of input and output jacks.
-
You may have to adjust the QC’s input and output levels to play nice with your amp.
-
This method ensures that your amp’s preamp section is always hooked up in the signal path. Some people prefer the flexibility of choosing an amp model or capture in the QC and sending that straight to the power amp section of their physical amplifier. In the example above, you can use a Transparent Blend (100% wet) block to send the guitar’s signal straight to the second row; then you can set up whatever you want in the QC to send straight to the power amp. This will bypass your amplifier’s preamp section.
@DiffractionCircuit yeah worked with the “big” quad. Not with the mini,…
Why doesn’t it work? It should work exactly the same.
Shouldn’t be any different. Has to be something strange in your setup because all the routing would be the same
Inputs and outputs work the same way on the grid for the QC and the Mini. Give us a detailed description of what you’ve tried so we can help you better.
