I’m getting really really worn out by the constant battle I have with both my QC and Cortex Control.
QC randomly has no sound on start-up. Not a new issue, this has been going on for months, no reply of any use from Neural support about this but I’m clearly not alone judging by the other posts here.
Anyway, here’s the catch - in order to hopefully fix this I need to do a backup and factory reset.
Best way to do a backup is to create one locally, via Cortex Control. Except, OMG, I must have tried about 30 times and every time CC crashes before completing the backup.
Life is too short to spend so much it constantly battling with your equipment, instead of working with it, so this is having a major negative impact on my experience of QC overall.
Is anyone else having issues with CC still and have any suggestions? I’ve done all the usual, un-installed, re-installed, tried multiple USB cables, checked version compatibility with QC version etc etc
this was posted on Discord as a solution for one user:
“Had to take it off the full disk access list, clean uninstall with app cleaner and then reinstall. Local backup complete!”
are you able to make a Cloud backup? That should be sufficient for swapping out units.
Thanks Xush. I have made a cloud backup, but tbh I feel nervous about only having one backup; after all, you rely on the wifi on the QC itself, which can also be unstable, to reload that backup after doing a factory reset!
CC doesn’t appear on the Full Disk Access list on my Mac, and I have un-installed and re-installed CC multiple times, using Clean My Mac, so sadly that doesn’t appear to work for me…
Another question - do you know, if you do a Factory Reset, when I restore a backup, will that reinstall all of my Captures, and the Pins on my Captures too? Or do I have to do all that manually again?
