CorOS 1.4.0 is now available. Download it via Settings > Device Options > Device Updates on your Quad Cortex once connected to Wi-Fi. We recommend that you create a backup before updating your firmware.

CorOS 1.4.0 features the highly anticipated Minivoicer, as well as nine new amplifiers, three overdrives, ten new effects, and a host of new features, changes, and fixes. The user manual has also been updated.

Check out our deep dive video for a closer look at all of the new features and changes.

We hope you enjoy CorOS 1.4.0!

Stomp Mode Bypass
You can now assign the bypass status of multiple devices to one footswitch in Stomp Mode. There is no limit to the number of devices’ bypass status that can be assigned to a single footswitch.

Input Gate
An Input Gate is available on all Input Blocks. It is bypassed by default when creating a new Preset and on all existing Presets.

Boot Splash Screen
A new boot splash screen has been added.

Recovery Mode
Press and hold the A and H footswitches within the first 6 seconds of the splash screen displaying to initiate Recovery Mode, where you can reset the settings or perform a factory reset.

Swap Scenes
You can now swap one Scene’s footswitch with another via the Main Menu on The Grid. This action can be performed in any Mode.

Text Cursor
You can now change the position of the caret in any text field by rotating the UP ARROW footswitch.

Numeric Keyboard
A numeric keyboard has been added.

USB Dry/Wet Signal
It is now possible to change which USB ins/outs send the dry or wet signal when using the Quad Cortex as an audio interface.

Our intelligent Minivoicer algorithm allows you to add 2 pitch shifted voices on top of your signal.

The voicing library provides absolute control over the root note, modes, and chords for harmonizing as well as arpeggiating. Activate MIDI to receive MIDI chords or notes which will harmonize your DI signal to the MIDI-instructed pitch.

The Minivoicer is available within Pitch devices.

Why are previously functional presets out of resources now?

Since the update I’ve got some weird artifacts in all my presets. Sounds like a type of fuzz. It’s strange. Is anyone else hearing this?

For those of you relying on the QC for professional gigs and sessions, I recommend you wait for at least the 1.4.1 release before upgrading.

Not because of any issues that I know of, just out of caution, this is software, I work in the software industry, x.0 releases tend to have fast-follows with fixes for issues that are only noticed at scale.

I have terrible noise on every sound on the unit after upgrading. The unit is now unusable! Sounds like some kind of static noise or digital clipping.

I’m having the same problem. I cannot use the QC after the update!

It’s some type of digital distortion and it’s BAD! I have a concert tonite. Come on NDSP! How do we downgrade???

I’m working with Support. They tell me it’s not possible to downgrade which puts me in a real bind. I have a concert tonite!

if you made a backup before just load that

I’m not sure that will help. We need someone from NDSP to chime in here. This is a real problem and we need someone to give us a solution. Support had me Hold Down A & H on reboot. Supposedly that is a factory reset? But I never got any message telling me that a reset was occurring?

@monteallums @huwalandavies @digbob - Hey all!

I have raised this to our internal teams and they are looking into it. If you haven’t yet please reach out to and send a video so they can get a better idea of what is going on.

If anyone experiences this issue please email support with a video and the preset they are using. DM me so I can track your ticket.

Thanks all!

I am currently out of the studio so I cannot make a video. maybe someone else here having the issue can? Thanx for the quick response BTW!

Of course! We take it very seriously and want to resolve everyone’s issue here ASAP.

One more update, if everyone is able to send the problematic preset in their email that will be helpful for the team as well.

I did want to ask, when I did the A & H hold down on reboot I never got a message that a factory reset was occurring? So I am unsure if a factory reset actually occurred?
