If in the US, I have used this PS from Digi-Key which is robust and has worked great as an alternate PS. I have had zero issues with the OEM PS but wanted another for travels etc.
The DC7 is grounded, but the ground seems to be isolated from the outlets, as discussed here.
So in terms of grounding the QC there seems to be no difference whether powering via DC7 or stock power supply. A technical proof of the opposite would be welcome, however.

Big difference. Just try it with 1/4” ‘s (or into headpones) vs xlrs into an audio interface. 
this is why there’s a mass complaint about the oem power supply. The Cioks provides clean power.
