Capture reviews

Just an idea I’ve been thinking about after working with tons of captures. We all know not every capture is made the same and while some are unreal others can simply be not worth your time. Pretty simple idea but having a 5 star rating system implemented to the captures would get a better idea of what captures are worth peoples time before downloading them, the download popularity can leave blind spots as there may be folks with great quality captures but veey few regular downloaders - whereas any famous QC user could capture anything and simply because they already have a following their capture wil recieve 1000’s of downloads putting it closer to the top of search results and news feed within the app.

There could even be a comments section so folks who have played a capute can give real feedback or tips from their experience with it, for example I’ve come across at least one capture that had no actual sound which had me quite confused. I tried finding an option to flag it as a bad capture or let the author know but no such thing exists, it would be valuable to be able to leave a review like, ‘1 star, tried the other captures from this author and most are good but this one in particular just doesnt have any sound through it’ both for sake of the author to be able to recieve this feedback and change things and for other potential donwloaders to see or search based on positive review percentages. If an author has only 30 regular downloaders but every single one leaves 5 star reviews that claim its their go to amp block would go a long way for the community to cut back on time hunting for the right or worth while captures.

I personally donwloaded nearly 200 captures when I got my Quad and have in my regular use folder about 10 of them so it would be nice to give new users an easier way to finding good quality captures and also give the folks who are putting our fantastic captures the attention and recognition they deserve.

I like this idea, but as with many “online reviews” the balance of power is unfavorably (and all too often unfortunately) tipped in the “customers’” hands.
It would be nice to find a way to filter the reviews as well, so as to limit the “I downloaded this Roland Jazz Chorus capture and I can’t even Djent with it… WTH - I’d give it zero stars if I could”
Particularly if the person making the capture is using this medium as a monetization thing. Honestly, in addition to reviews, or in lieu of, I think a 15 second audio sample of strumming a few cowboy chords with the capture would be the best way to display a capture’s performance and if it’s truly something you’re looking for.
