Hey all, first week in with my QC and I am loving it!
Curious if anyone is using any of the Bogren IR packs and which one you like best for high gain? I play mostly Death/Black and Prog and considering the downtuned pack.
Please feel free to mention other IR packs you have enjoyed for high gain and low tuning applications. Thanks, cheers!
Personally, I loaded my favorite IR’s and very quickly realized the built in Cab block was amazing and sounded better to my ears. And I deleted all the Impulse Responses I had loaded and only use the Cab block.
I definitely love the cab block as is but I am a tweaker and like experimeting with tones so I figured trying some different ir’s might be fun.
I have the Tue Madsen pack loaded and I think they sound great!
Same experience - I did found out some nice IR’s from Amalgam Audio, they sound really nice but maybe its my ears I always go back to the QC cabs.
All the bogren ones are good including the khole ones. I would say they’re better for recording/mixes as in they’re pre-eq’ed fairly heavily. Great for mixes but I prefer others for just playing. Other great ones are Ownhammer (Rec essentials and Prog essentials). York Audio is also good and ML Soundlab but i prefer Ownhammer. I actually use UAD ox stomp as well but that’s expensive.
