Pretty simple. The Cab section gets disabled automatically when a capture that already contains an IR is loaded.
The only issue I see is that users must rely on the capture creator to correctly label their captures in order for the system to read it and work accordingly.
I think it happened to nearly anyone to load a sick amp capture with the generic “capture” label and spending a solid 5 minutes wondering why it sounded like crap, only to find out you were stacking 2 IRs one on top of the other. Rabea’s captures are awesome for example, but not labeled, and most already have a cab even if it’s not specified anywhere.
This would be a nice feature.
The issue you stated above is valid as well. There’s just too many badly described captures with cab baked in.
The generic capture icon should be removed, forcing the creator to spend those 3 seconds to figure out what the correct icon actually is.
Agree. I don’t like it when I see captures with no category, no comments, etc. Actually, I don’t download any of that. People can’t even spend a few seconds to add some care to their captures… is it that hard? C’mon…
I’ve heard that Kemper can separate the cabinet from a cast (amp + cab) and leave only the amp’s sound. The technology is called CabDriver. When you create a Profile (amp + cabinet + microphone), Kemper saves everything as a single profile. But within the profile, it mathematically isolates the part related to the cabinet and allows you to disable it.
It would also be cool to have such a feature in Neural DSP products.
