hey! ive tried to search everything here and on reddit and even with horrible ai tools giving even worse results, but i am still not sure i know this answer, and i’m hoping someone can help me. if i select an amp capture and dial in the amp settings by adjusting gain and volume and stuff on the capture, am i able to audition other captures keeping those same amp settings, or do all captures (and models i guess) revert to their default setting each time you audition them?

Couple of things to keep in mind:
A capture is a snapshot of someone’s amp or overdrive settings “as-is”. The gain and EQ knobs inside of a capture block are not meant to directly represent an amp’s or pedal’s knobs, since the captured device’s settings are already baked in. I would think of capture block parameters as more of a “post-EQ” thing.
I’m not at my QC at the moment–I can’t confirm whether or not the capture block keeps the same settings if you change the capture, but my guess is no. But based on the info above, you probably wouldn’t want to anyway.

Best practice on QC is usually to record a loop of your playing, and then adjusting devices can go a little quicker without having to wrangle an instrument too.

No, every time you change a block to a different device (not necessarily a capture block), all the parameters revert to the default.
Thankfully, the QC has enough DSP to have multiple blocks of the same type in the grid. So, you can use Scene mode or Stomp mode to quickly A/B test between a block you already configured and an alternative one.

I will apply the block of the capture and them “Set Existing Parameters as Default” so the next time I go back and pull it up, it has the tweaks I applied. If I eventually don’t like them I just set back to noon and reapply those. Make sense?
