Assign Blocks To Individual Scenes

Similar to how you can have a Stomp affect multiple blocks, it would be nice to assign specific block manipulation to individual scenes and exclude other blocks from being change. This way, I can have scenes that alter my wet effects without touching my drives, or vice versa.

You can already do this–Scene mode lets you get as granular as you want to be with turning blocks on and off, or changing values within specific blocks, etc.

True, but I can’t have a scene completely ignore specific blocks that are allowed to be affected by scenes in general. It’s always a global snapshot of everything that is open to scenes.

For example, if I have 4 effects open to scenes, I can’t set one scene to affect 2 of the blocks, and then another scene to affect the other 2 and leave the first 2 alone. Say I set Scene A with 1 OD on, Scene 2 with 2 ODs on, then I want scene 3 to turn on a bunch of wet effects that were off in 1 and 2. I can’t press scene 3 for the wet effects without defaulting the ODs to whatever they were when the scene was created.

This is an oversimplified example because I could just do this with stomps. But I would love to be able to assign certain changes to certain scenes without affecting the changes that I set with completely different effects on other scenes

Right, there shouldn’t be any issue here.

When you activate any block for Scene use, you need to decide which state it needs to be in for all Scenes.

In your example, your overdrive blocks may be switching on and off on Scenes 1 and 2 (or, let’s say, Scenes E and F), but then you also need to determine if they need to be on or off for when your wet effects kick on in Scene 3 (or Scene G if I’m being pedantic).

Likewise, your wet effects in your first two Scenes are turned off, which is also a decision you are actively making when setting up your preset.

This is the exact issue. I’m asking to be able to assign some blocks to some scenes and others to other scenes, or maybe some to multiple scenes rather than a global snapshot

I’ll stay out of it from now on but, just know that you can already functionally do everything you’re asking for in terms of having certain blocks on and off across different Scenes. Just choose where you want them on and where you want them turned off.

For example:

Scene E
Tubescreamer on
Rat off
Delay off
Reverb off

Scene F
Tubescreamer off
Rat on
Delay off
Reverb off

Scene G
Tubescreamer on
Rat on
Delay off
Reverb off

Scene H
Tubescreamer on
Rat on
Delay on
Reverb on

No worries! Great conversation. You have it laid out well, but when you get 4 drives, 2 verbs, 2 delays, chorus, trem, etc involved, you run out of switches and combinations, haha
