Archetype ->Standalone Mode<- on the QC?

Hi,

Uhhh… if you buy Achetype Misha Mansoor

  • Can you run it on your QC?
  • Does it, or can it, sit in signal chain list any other fx block? ~~ in other words, I can put a compressor block, an IR block and then this plugin block, and then after that block put a reverb block or whatever
  • The website says “Standalone” - what does that really mean?

Standalone mode means, you can run the plug-in on your computer without needing to open up a DAW (Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton Live, etc.). This lets you freely play your instrument into the plug-in.

You need an audio interface to run standalone mode. The QC itself is an audio interface, so you can use it to run standalone mode on your computer. However, this does NOT mean that the plug-in is loaded onto the grid of the QC.

I don’t know if you can use the QC + standalone mode in the way you’re describing. It can be done within a DAW, but you would need to do some extra routing with USB channels while operating the plug-in (not in standalone mode).

What I want, is what I have seen with other QC plugins, where I can load the plugin into QC, and then pick any fx block from the plugin and add it to my chain in one of my QC presets.

Any word on when the next CorOS update is coming out?

it’s in beta right now. Who knows how long it will be…

Neural revealed just this week that the upcoming CorOS 4.1.0 is currently in beta. This will make Misha Mansoor, Tim Henson, John Petrucci, John Mayer, and Rabea plug-ins fully compatible on the QC. It will be the single largest PCOM release yet.

Based on past experience, a CorOS version being in beta may still take 2-4 more months to release.

The Neural website lists what plugins are compatible with the QC. There isn’t any other info we can give on here than some more plugins are coming in the next update. That might not be for months though.

Thank you!! I’ll look again. I was looking at the websiite “Marking blurb” and that’s where I saw the Standalone statement.
