Anyone Using WIDI Master? https://www.cme-pro.com/widi-master/

Hi,
Has anyone successfully used WIDI Master:
WIDI Master - Wireless MIDI Adapter via Bluetooth by CME
to send MIDI messages to their QC via Bluetooth?

What device are using to send the MIDI messages via bluetooth?
What functions do you control?

  • Bank Change?
  • Preset Change?
  • Scene Change?

Can all of the 3 items listed above be controlled by MIDI?
The website manual “suggests” - you can set the bank/preset. Is anyone doing this via wireless MIDI??

Thanks
AJ

A quick search turned up this thread which may be helpful for you:

There were a few that showed in my search so definitely recommend reviewing some of those existing threads (if you haven’t already).

I use that device and I paired it with the Graviton Luminite M1 Graviton M1 MIDI Controller – Luminite Effect Pedals

Honestly it took a few tries to pair and cant remember how I did it lol. I use an XY and EC remotes controllers. I love the compact size of this midi controller. I attach the remotes to inexpensive stainless steel money clips, which I clip to the guitar strap.

I use it on the QC. I send preset and scene changes from an ipad.

I use it with OnSong on my iPad. CC32→ Setlist, PC→ Preset, CC43 → Scene

@Andyjcp Thanks for your reply.
This is similar to what I want to do. Send scene and preset changes to the QC from either my iPad, or maybe my phone.

What software - on the iPad - are you running that send the changes??
Thanks
Alex

I‘m using forScore, but there’s many other options as well.

I use CME Widi (u-Host on the computer, Master on the pedalboard with the QC - check my pedalboard - Master on the bass player’s Anagram )

U-Host is the group Master (MacBook plays backing tracks, we use Logic with 1 song per project and only bounces tracks - we have all projects numbered in the setlist order and all open at the same time on the computer. I select the « next song » via a Nektar Pacer with Makie Control protocol to logic - that will probably get a Widi Master too).

I use a midi track (in mackbook+logic or Idoru P1 depending on the band) to control the following on the QC :

  • change presets (1 per song)
  • change scenes (sound changes within a song)
  • reset expression pedals position at start and end of songs
  • Set expression pedals values at certain points in the song : exp 2 is usually used as a preamp gain and sometimes I control a gradual fade in or out
  • Midi clock to sync time based effects per song

As you see i my board I also use a Idoru P1 backing tracks player (for my other band) which is currently hard connected to a MRCC Midi mixer (I might try to add a Widi Master and integrate it in the group. If I do that then I will most probably move the « board » Widi Master directly on the QC and make that one the Group Master).

what I am desperately missing here is implementation of Midi CC#7 on the QC to act as global volume that I will control with the far left Boss Midi volume pedal.
