Anyone managed to recreate Guthries violin patch on the QC?

It’s looking mighty fun to mess around with something like this:
Guthrie Govan explains his violin technique

“Monophonic synth –> Violin body IR in the speaker block”

the violin IR has nothing to do with the effect, it’s called auto swell or slow gear and while the QC doesn’t have an effect block specifically for it you can still use gates reverb/delay to get the effect
here is an example on the cloud Neural DSP Technologies - Algorithmically Perfect

Don’t know if the QC is able to do that but if yes, would be nice if an affect nerd could achieve this sound cause it is very cool !

I’ve came up with somtin I’m happy with I will post a link later when I get time to put it up online… you will need to tweak it for your own input and guitar and I’m also using an fcb1010 for the swells… but I think there’s a trick with the gates you can do to give an auto swell type of thing so need to look into that myself…

the closest I’ve gotten so far (and I’ve been working a LOT on it) is this parallel lane at the bottom of this preset: Neural DSP Technologies - Algorithmically Perfect

You can add the swell/bowed effect by using a Utility Gate at around 40dB threshold and 100% maxed attack time, with everything else set to min

if you have an expression’ great and you dont need to go fully open on exp half open is nice otherwise youl have to try the utility gate trick ..it didn’t do much for me

heres without the need of an expression sorta figured it out

thanx to xush for the capture it helps also i like the drive in the preset you can switch it off if you dont of course

took another crack at it; I think Scene A is a little closer to an actual violin emulation. It’s tricky on the Quad though. I’m curious to hear if this translates well on anyone else’s setup. Might take some vol/tone guitar adjustments (this version includes the swell mod with the Utility Gate)

Also working on a bass/cello version.
