After the 3.1.0 update, the transpose not working

CorOS Version: 3.1.0

Describe your issue:

After the 3.1.0 update, the transpose not working .
Con la version 3.0.0 funcionaba bien , ahora suena la nota original y la nota ajustada al mismo tiempo. horrible.

I have tried the following things:

  • I have tried restart,

I’ve literally just been using it 2mins ago and works fine for me. I’d recommend sharing your preset for someone to check.

(It’s definitely not you hearing the note from the guitar acoustically too?)

my preset es simple: Effect + amp + cab.
i´m shure i’m not listen the guitar acoustically. i´ll try to send at issue report to neural people from the pedal.

Odd. Have you tried the pitch block, too? Does it work? Does the transpose block not work AT ALL or just not up or down? Are you sure the block is on/engaged? Mine’s been working fine. This is a really unusual problem…

I suggest posting a quick video of playing through the preset, then engaging the block (and show the settings) and demonstrating it not working. NDSP is going to ask for this video, too, so might as well post it here

Try turning your monitor up loud or use a pair of closed back headphones to minimize the acoustic-only sound of the strings from your guitar. I cannot tell you how many users have sworn they were not hearing their guitar acoustically only to find out they were.

Another common cause of this is a route in a preset that is allowing some direct sound through along with the transposed sound.

Might also want to check your input level on the I/O page too and make sure it is adequate to properly trigger the transpose block. Try putting the transpose block at the beginning of your signal chain. Or maybe place a compressor before it.

This is the second time someone was saying transpose didn’t work after the 3.1 update on here and Reddit. Was definitely the same person on the previous post because the post was worded exactly the same. That person realized they had their preset setup wrong. I’m assuming this is probably similar thing because a number of users responded saying it worked for them/helped troubleshoot the issue.

I will do what you indicate to solve the problem. I found other users describing the same problem.

I have the same problem and I couldn’t solve it either, and in the purchased archetypes of Soldano and Gojira too :unamused:

What’s your signal chain, from guitar to ears? I’m 100% positive you have direct monitoring on or you’re hearing the untransposed signal acoustically…

Yeah, this definitely is a direct monitoring or hearing the guitar itself outside the headphones/monitors situation.

Lots of interfaces have their own routing program that communicates with the interface, and will have a direct monitoring option.

I experienced a similar thing recently when I had “multi out” selected on my QC as an interface. It was also playing the clean signal through my headphones + the sound from the DAW. Then I realized I hadn’t set the correct output for the lane I was using.

the chain is the simplest - guitar + quad cortex + head monitors. maybe there is a problem in the configuration of the cortex itself? all the archetypes I bought are included in default mode and without any bells and whistles

What’s the output set as on your quad cortex? There will be an output selected at the end of the lane or signal chain.

I have the output to the head monitors and outputs 3 and 4 enabled. And in the settings of the preset itself, the output is multi

Can you share a screenshot of your preset? Or even better, share it on cortex cloud, so other people can try it. This way we could determine if the problem occurs on other QCs too.

Are you monitoring through a DAW or FRFR/monitor speakers directly from the QC? I would suggest selecting Output 3-4 instead of Multi Out at the end of each lane you’re using, assuming that’s the two outputs you’re using.

Any time someone has posted on here or the Neural Reddit page about the same sort of issue it’s been either they hear their guitar acoustics in the room or there was a routing issue on their end. Assuming it’s one of those scenarios since you’ll need to absolutely not hear the guitar itself over the amp/effect

instead of multi, I used outputs 3 and 4. There is nothing extraneous in the output chain - the outputs go straight to the monitors. I exclude acoustic sound because I clearly hear two notes in the monitors instead of one. I don’t even want to talk about chords or intervals - it’s a complete mess. Nothing helps - I’ve tried everything!!! This is definitely a bug in the system itself. I wonder if it’s possible to reinstall the latest update???

There isn’t really a way to reinstall the new update. Best bet would be making a backup on your account of the QC, and then a full factory reset.

The preset looks good. Another thing you could try would be to load the factory preset “1A Brit 2203” and switch the transpose block on.

If you have the same problem with the factory preset and you don’t have a USB connection (which could leak your DI signal to a daw) this might indeed be a bug.
A backup+factory reset, like @SelfTitledLP already suggested, could help.

If that doesn’t do it either, you should contact support@neuraldsp.com
