Additional MIDI footswitches (more than 8)

Hey guys.

Since I control all footswitches via Ableton during live shows and usually several blocks at the same time, I asked myself “why are only 8 blocks controllable and then only via the velocity value?”

The QC would be much more versatile if you could assign more than just 8 footswitches via midi. (And no! It doesn’t work with scenes, because I combine different blocks at different times)

Also programming changes would be so much easier if you could assign a midiNOTE (e.g. C2) directly to a block in the QC, regardless of the number of footswitches on the QC, instead of working with velocity values. It takes forever and is totally confusing. Especially because the values 0=Off / 127=On don’t work… When the midi command (independent of the velocity) is received, the footswitch is simply switched on or off. So you could do it via one note anyways.

I really like the Quad Cortex and I’m already using it for 2 years now but the competition does this whole programming thing much better than Neural…

So please, expand the amount for (digital) footswitches.

Pretty sure this has already been requested. The limit of 8 scenes or stomps has been a topic here before quite a few times

I agree regarding the number of MIDI foot switches… I would like to be able to repurpose the preset up/down buttons to send MIDI data (and disable the built-in preset up/down action).

I have just started experimenting with looping the QC MIDI back to itself to control things. The main 8 foot switches are usually linked to some other action, so I would rather have the two up/down buttons for MIDI to avoid conflict. With loopback, I could send commands so that the preset up button moves down and the down button moves up

The other challenge with the main 8 foot switches is that, in preset mode, they will obviously take you to another preset. Since the QC MIDI mapping is specific to a given preset, this can cause you to lose your MIDI mapping if you are not manually placing the same mappings on all presets.
