NDSP usually doesn’t do this level of bigger marketing (YouTube videos, etc.) for their standard Black Friday sales.
The YouTube videos are live streams scheduled one per day:
I on Nov. 21st
II on Nov. 22nd
…and so on. Whatever the big reveal is, it’s probably on November 29th. Or 30th.
It is not clear if the YouTube videos are tied to a QC update, but this statement on Discord looks real nice:
They have to come in action now or half their customers get a Stadium instead. I’ve listened to all vids released and imho its a beautiful unit and it sounds great (I think).
But to be honest, if Neural actual starts adding more useful effects so the QC finally starts matching other units out there I’m not going anywhere. The QC is a great device, just running on 3 legs for non-plugin users.
I’m happy to stay on QC. I just want to see some signs they’re developing it and not just plug-ins. I think with the silence recently it makes total sense that they are close to a release.
Anyone think this has to do with TINA? That was introduced without much explanation in July 2024. All of the information they provided was vague.
It seems like they use TINA for the plugins. Maybe now they are going to be updating the amps with TINA technology?
I don’t think that “half” is by any means accurate for the customer base… maybe a few percent go to the new shiny thing, but there are so many that are happy with QC that aren’t even on these forums… Not everyone plays and listens with their eyes. If it works, why change it just for the sake of changing it? Guitars, pedals, amps, etc… so many of them never change and for good reason - no need to!
Unfortunately Mantra will never be compatible with the QC according to NDSP. Maybe we’ll get a module or two eventually, but not the full suite since it’s built on different architecture
I dunno, I think that it makes a lot of sense for them to say it’s not coming even if they do want to release it to the QC eventually.
Considering how many people are complaining about the delays in plugin integration, imagine what it would be like to have a bunch of vocalists buying a QC expecting integration and then waiting years for it to show up. That’s a lot of anger, particularly if you were a singer and it was the only reason you bought it.
Realistically, an equivalent of most of the components of Mantra would be there by the time the plugins were integrated - Henson has the harmonizer, versions of the delay/reverb/compressor stuff already exist in some form… aside from the de-esser, there’s approximate overlap in functionality for all of Mantra if they get the remaining guitar plugins set up in the QC.
I want to say “when they get the plugins set up”, but it’s been a few years now and the updates are months apart. I’m not complaining, really - I just have to wonder how long they can keep this up before they need to move focus to a newer product in order to remain competitive in the future and/or keep the lights on.
Agree, there’s zero movement you’re a plugin fetishist (joke ). I am going to send a mail to Neural, explaining why it is important to give regular updates, that the competition is fierce and that there is actually something to loose for them.
