QJams 2.0 final beta is out!
I didn’t expect that 38 people would take the effort to download beta 1.1 from GitHub. So a big Thank You is in place. If you decide to try it out, PLEASE give me feedback. Your feedback is essential for me so I can develop QJams to the next level. Note: QJams is free to use and exclusively available on Linux.

(QJams is a video-synced jamming and practice DAW with 12-track recorder, full track editing and real time gain staging)

Beta 2 has undergone a big overhauls with many new functions. No more modes. There’s now one single interface where everything happens.

  • Session Management
  • File Management
  • Audio Recording and Editing
  • On the fly Video Recording

QJams is now more robust, faster, now has a large undo buffer, streamlined workflow. If you need a tool to record audio, fully synced video recording, basic audio editing: You can definitely use it as your daily driver. Try it out!

Thanks, those are some serious replies, thanks for taking the time and actually looking at my code!
The project is progressing fast btw, and I have probably fixed some of the things you found already. I’m currently in the middle of a full code structure refactor and before that updated the monolithic memory model to be much more resilient to large edits. While testing (many times…) I found several functional issues that I have fixed as well.

Anyway, I will investigate and report back!

It’s clear that this kind of project moves very fast, and issues can arise when modifying or adding features. In any case, your project is great. :+1:
