Has anyone had experience using the Yamaha WL500 wireless headphones with the Quad Cortex?
Yes. Works nicely. To avoid harsh sound use a cab or IR in your signal chain. Use the QC I/O settings to get the headset signal as you want to.
Thank you for your feedback. I use a Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (80 ohms). The sound is absolutely top-notch. How would you characterize the sound of the Yamaha? And: Does the open-back design bother my wife sitting on the couch next to me?
I read this in a review on Thomann: When used wirelessly, there is a background hiss—it’s quiet, admittedly, but it still bothers me a little. However, since there isn’t really any true alternative for those who prefer working without cables, I’m going to keep it and love it just the way it is.
Do you experience this hiss as well?
