Would a QC work for me?

Im looking to accomplish something very specific for my live setup and im not sure if a QC would be the answer. hoping to get some insight or advice:

I use an ENGL Savage 120 mk2 in my band, Im basically looking to build a pedalboard to use in the FX loop of the amp, for clean sections only. i normally run the high gain channel like 95% of the time, but there are some parts where I need to switch to the clean channel and activate the FX loop at the same time, and when done, go back to the distortion channel and disable to fx loop simultaneously. so basically a one-button-does-all deal.

i know i can use the QC to build an fx chain for the fx loop, but does the QC double as a reliable midi footswitch? ive never used the midi features on this amp, but i dont see how this couldnt be achieved. Ive owned a QC in the past but sold it and never got to play with the midi features on it so im a bit lost. direct me the right way before i go off and spend almost $2k on one

I would say yes. The QC can send one or even multiple MIDI messages (CC / PC) by pressing one of the 8 FS or even on preset loading.
Personally I would just try the MIDI stuff with your amp with a cheap MIDI FS first. And if you really only use it 5% of the time and only for effects, do you even need a QC? Sounds like a bit overkill. Not saying you shouldn’t! Just a thought.

hah yeah it may seem like overkill but i didn’t mention that the QC would be my home practice amp as well. i keep all the half stacks in the studio. i’ve been wanting one for home use for a while, but the midi thing would absolutely sell it for me
