Hi there
I have a broken volume knob: assigned values are glitchy and really unstable in a certain range (between 40 and 60 more or less).
I have contacted the customer care and they offered me to have the unit sent, repair it and ship it back in 3 weeks at more than 300€ euros. My unit is out of warranty.
Instead of going for this, I was looking for some workaround, since the volume value stays still at 100%.
From my QC I go into the return input of a valve amp and then in a 4x12 cab: I very like this setup and the tone I get.
I used to use the volume knob exactly for volume regulation out of the mentioned power amp: I was wondering if you guys know about some attenuator or stuff like that which I can use for this purpose, keeping the QC volume at 100
Any of the ‘passive volume attenuators’ should work. Something like this: Ebay Link (not recommending that one specifically though).
They are all basically the same: a volume pot in an enclosure. You could build one yourself very easily too if you were inclined.
yes I was thinking to something like this, I don’t know if pedal-shaped or a box put on the amp.
I’m also pretty curious to build it myself.
Then I have a doubt, though. I believe in the QC the knob move an encoder which will “digitally” adjust the volume. I wonder if just a pot (meaning a resistor) woul degrade somehow the signal
Yea, the QC control is definitely digital as it can be unassigned/assigned to different outputs.
A passive volume control like the one above wont degrade the signal, it’s just the same as the volume control on your guitar, or many other devices.
If you want to avoid it completely, you could swipe up from the bottom of the screen, then manually edit the output level for the output you are using. This saves any extra devices/cables, but is harder to access quickly.
