What is the right way to use toggle rows in scenes?

I have a scene where it’s basically two different setups, one on 1&2 with a splitter and the other on 3.

Is there a “right” way to toggle between these in a scene? I’ve tried using a splitter and sending the output to a/b based on scene and also just muting the output of the row based on scene.

The splitting option is fine but there’s no visual indication that audio when sending all audio on a or b that one row isn’t doing anything.
The muting option is nice because there’s a visual indication that the row isn’t sending output with the red “muted” light, but is the cortex still processing the audio up to the output even if it’s muted?
