Is there a way to route backing tracks so they are mixed with the guitar in the headphone output, while keeping the main amp outputs guitar-only? I’ve only found tutorials using USB. Is there another method? I tried using the Return 1 as suggested, but I’m not receiving any external signal (aux cable from an Android tablet headphone out to Return 1).
I was thinking of using input 2 and routing it only to the headphone output, but I’m not sure if that would be a good idea, since I must change all my presets
It’s just for quick practice, plug in my phone and play. At the same time, I don’t want to have to deal with outputs and inputs every time I need to connect to an amp.
It must be summing to mono–which is surprising–if you’re getting the full sound by plugging in a TRS cable with stereo signal into a Return jack. Neural have confirmed that each of the loops are mono only, which assumes a single ADC converter per Return jack.
Anyway, to @jvabbdac:
How are you trying to set Return 1 for receiving the external signal? Input 2 should be fine to use for plugging in a backing track. Whether you use Return 1 or Input 2, you would still be changing your preset(s) to accommodate this.
Of course I tried input 2 at first because of the documentation - TRS, stereo… what a crappy result. Then I tried return 2 and everything was as expected.
Try it yourself please. Very curious for your results. Never exclude I did something „wrongly".
Input 2 and each return aren’t stereo even if you’re using a TRS cable. I’m thinking for your scenario you’ll want to use Return 1/2. Otherwise you’ll just have mono or just left channel
You need to enable Return 1/2 in your preset. So yes you do need to adjust your preset. Add Return 1/2 as the input for a blank lane. Then have the output for that lane be whichever output you need. The QC won’t just randomly play signal through an input unless you engage it within the preset
