Hey all, I’m looking to see if it’s possible to setup my peavy head with 4cm where quad cortex can switch amp channels for me (clean/lead/rhythm). I wouldn’t want to buy a generic $40 generic compatible amp channel foot switch, but can if I need to. The amp does not have any midi in or out
Here’s what I’m using:

The QC doesn’t do amp channel switching for tube heads. You would need to send midi to the head, but this head only has a 1/4 jack for a basic pedal.
If you want a pedal that does channel switching for the head you would need the Line 6 HX Effects. That has a dedicated amp switching output that would work with your head.
Your best case scenario would probably be sending midi to the HX Effects from the QC, and then that would trigger the head changes. Not sure if it can change three channels on the head, but at least could do two.
Here is a video showing how that works. There’s a bunch of others as well I’m sure- https://youtu.be/lpjnvMqMiEc?si=buyAb08qfys2sLWI
Otherwise, you would just need to use a normal foot switch for the head. There really isn’t another workaround.
Most if not all of my Line 6 stuff has a jack that you can use for channel switching. Even so, I use the MIDI on the line 6 to the midi on my synergy egnater stuff to switch multiple preamps. The QC could do it with midi I am pretty sure, but I have not tried it yet. Come to think of it, I use the midi to switch speakers on my Line 6 power cabs. I am guessing that the Peavey is not midi?
HX Stomp , HX Stomp XL, and HX One do not have the Ext Amp output. You would need the Ext Amp output which is on the HX effects and the full size floor unit.
Hey there, I have a 1 channel Gower amp and because I love its sound, I use the 4cm to do the channel switching. I bypass the loop to get the cleans from the QC and switch it on for the Gower to be engaged with the same delays and reverbs of the clean channel. I also assign an extra EQ after the loop and an OD with 0 gain and a little tweaked tone and level before the pre-amp of the amp for lead sounds. Works a charm for me.
Another workaround where you could still use your QC/Midi, is to buy one of these https://www.suhr.com/product/micro-midi-control/. Basically send midi from QC to this and converts to TRS combinations to change your amp channels. I use this between QC and my Soldano SLO30 for changing amp channels when doing 4CM. $120 USD but cheaper than buying an HX unit.
yeah, that seems like the best option
Thank you all, I may try the suhr midi control method. Not sure how soon I can set this up, but if I do I will be sure to update the thread
