Would be super nice if we could get wet usb output. This would make social media posts a breeze!
You need to provide more details as the QC outputs to (default) DI USB 1/2 and wet USB 3/4 or switchable to DI USB 3/4 and wet USB 1/2 via settings.
Those changes were made most likely to adapt to recording processed tones while recording on iPhones and iPads etc.

I guess my question then is does anyone know how I can plug straight from the QC to an iPhone, open my camera and start recording the signal from the QC as the video audio?

Yes, as stated above; the QC outputs to (default) DI USB 1/2 and wet USB 3/4 or switchable to DI USB 3/4 and wet USB 1/2 via I/O USB settings (tab2). I personally record directly to both iPhone and iPad directly connected.
