I spent about a week with the new QC mini. Because I own the normal one, I compared them side by side.
- Gig View is horrible. As you can see, on the Mini you can only really read 4 of the 8 windows. This makes no sense whatsoever, as the screen size is the same. The wider windows don’t offer anything. In fact, I think they make it weirder.
“Cleanish” is quite close to FS A. Which is good. But “+delays” is in the middle of the screen and far away from FS B. Like, … why? Putting the windows close to each FS would be more than enough. Why put big letters of the FS there, which are overpowering the text even? There are only 4 FS, so it’s not of any help either.
- Presets made for Hybrid Mode do not work between the two. You can also see that in the picture. NDSP support says, it’s due to the FS-system. But that is nonsense. It’s just imported the wrong way.
- Banks don’t align between the two. 4B now changes to 7B. So good luck remembering where you put what. This is because the mini has a different back count system. For absolutely no reason.
It’s a shame really, but once again shows the lack of basic common sense NDSP is showing from time to time.
While I think that the Mini overall is a great product, these problems are just frustrating. Especially when switching between the two and using one as a backup. I asked NDSP support about of all these. They said they don’t plan on changing them anytime soon. So I am returning it.
