Strymon Midi Switching with QC

Hey gang, new QC user here.

I’m wondering how I can use the QC as a midi switcher (or what additional tools may be necessary) with my Stry-fecta. I definitely want to integrate Timeline, Mobius, and Big Sky with my QC and am wondering how to have the Strymon presets change with scenes & presets on the QC as well as sync the Tap Tempo. This is my first time ever trying midi on a board.

Has anyone done this that can share any resources on wiring and setup?

Appreciate any input!

So a few tips:

plan to primarily use scene mode. Midi commands are currently tied to each button (no matter if you’re in scene or stomp mode).

I’d run a midi cable from midi out of QC to all your Strymon pedals. You’ll need 3. QC to mobius, möbius to timeline, timeline to bigsky

from the QC midi menu you can program the midi commands for each specific scene using pc message for each Strymon pedal. Check the Strymon manuals for help on the midi messages… the numbering is a little wonky

also. Assign pedal to a different midi channel.

and I think under QC system preferences you need to set QC to midi out I think.

There’s probably some snags im forgetting. Feel free to send me a message

I think that pretty much covers it. I’ve done it with my Volante and was able to switch presets via Scenes on the QC.

The other quandary will be how to connect your audio. The stereo FX-loop of the Quad is an obvious advantage with being able to place the fx anywhere in the signal path on the grid and easily control the mix. However, you’re locked into whatever order the Strymons connect to each other, audio-wise.

If you don’t need a fully stereo loop (both IN and Out), you could Loop one of the pedals separately from a Mono Send to its own input (or input pair for stereo). This would allow a little more flexibility as to where that 3rd pedal hits the grid separately from the other 2

Has anyone been successful with sImultaneous PC & CC commands?
