Quad Cortex as a MIDI switcher

Hello everyone,

I currently have a Tonex Pedal and I’m in the waiting line to get a Quad Cortex. My planned setup would be: guitar → Tonex Pedal → Quad Cortex. I’m considering connecting both units via MIDI.

My main question is: If I have a preset on the Quad Cortex with different scenes, can I switch the Tonex’s presets within those scenes? Essentially, can the Quad Cortex function as a MIDI switcher to control the Tonex’s presets?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Marko

To simplify a bit, because I’m really curious, can I control other MIDI pedals, like the Tonex, with the Quad Cortex? So that I can change presets on them through the QC?

Chat GBT said “You can program the Quad Cortex to send MIDI Program Change (PC) messages to the Tonex pedal. These messages will switch presets on the Tonex when you change scenes or presets on the Quad Cortex.” Is that correct?

P.85 & 86 is what you’re looking for. I use PC changes on presets for the eventide H90. Works fine.

Thanx man… I assume it should work the same for every MIDI pedal, so also for TONEX or TIMELINE… Great  By the way, what are the main reasons you use H90 together with QC?

After 2 years of having the qc, i still really like it. Its an extremely versatile platform, that its most underrated feature is digital routing. That said, it’s “not great” in the category of weird. Think chase bliss. I prefer fx in stereo parallel & kill dry (minimal phase issues), so the qc & h90 IMO are a perfect match. Both of these units are beastly.

f.w.i.w… you might want to try the Tonex pedal in the QC effects loop. That way you can place the Tonex pedal anywhere in the chain.
