I know NDSP, for whatever reason, seems reluctant to have a standalone preset file format for the Quad Cortex, but I think it needs to be reconsidered. Right now, the reliance on the cloud means you need internet access. It also means that third-party resellers for presets must send presets to users only after they’ve followed you on the cloud.
The intention of NDSP has always been to create some marketplace, but it seems that the cloud constraint makes building a marketplace much more complicated than it needs to be. We don’t have a marketplace yet, and even when we do, we’ll be forced to use the marketplace with NDSP taking a cut instead of being able to run our own storefronts.
I can’t think of any valid reasons for not having a standalone preset file format.
