that is all

The Nano Cortex has been leaked. We won’t know what it’s capable of likely until after the 3 day marketing hype machine.

I feel like it isn’t actually the device that’s in the photo (no screen and just knobs). That must be an early prototype because it looks like a bad Mooer bootleg or something

It’s good that a smaller version of the Quad Cortex is coming onto the market. This will counter the other manufacturers and create more competition in the small modeler segment. I know a few people who think the current version is too big, too bulky and, above all, too expensive and who would be happy with a smaller version. Personally, I would be happy with a bigger, more powerful version. But hey… there’s a time for everything.

Very true. The guy that did the teardown video a while back said the screen was by far the most expensive part. If you were going to make a cheaper QC, no screen, far fewer footswitch/knob combos, fewer in/out circuitry would be a great start.

It could have the brains of the QC, but requires a PC or phone or something. Basically, not really any good for gigging, and can’t capture, but for everyone else - a much cheaper option.

…or maybe it’s literally just an audio interface

they did that about a year ago. I don’t expect they will keep reiterating that side of it.

Things are better than they were at launch, but the rest is a long haul to get there. We all want them to ‘fix everything at once’ but that’s obviously not going to happen.

then they gave the free PlugIN - that was assumed to have gone into that mix too.
but anyway, yeah, this comes up every few cycles or so, I don’t think it’ll change that much. I do think the QC is miles from where it began, which was already pretty good-

admittedly, the good-will gestures have a long hill to climb. There’s no easy answer I think.

I’ve never liked the ‘if you don’t like it, sell it’ mantra- I think users are entitled to voice their dissatisfaction and frustration and suggestions. That’s what builds the community.

That said, there must be a point where you dump Pizza Hut for Dominos, I suppose. For your own well-being, at least.

You absolutely hit the nail on the head with your synopsis. When more QOL UI issues have been dealt with and several critical feature requests fulfilled, this sort of lighthearted tomfoolery will find a much more receptive audience. As you indicated, the stress level regarding missing functionality and stability issues surrounding the QC is a little too high now for this to be received by everyone in the spirit it was intended. And for the those with a more serious temperament, there will never be a good time for this sort of thing.

I do at least conceptually enjoy that Neural essentially put out a short film. First one I can remember put out by a modeling company. Kind of innovative in that respect. I do love having humor injected into any highly technical enterprise as long as it accompanied by an uncompromising focus on product quality. Do they need to up their writing/content game? For sure! I’m thinking the next short could be entitled “I TINA” (Asimovian sci-fi reference to Neural’s robot). Would it have been better with a dog instead of a cat? Definitely! :slightly_smiling_face:

My dyslexic friend always called the movie adaptation “I Robert”

I think users should definitely be able to voice dissatisfaction/suggestions/concerns. However, there are a few notable users on here who just seem to come her purely to complain and bash the product constantly, to the point that I can’t fathom how you could hate a product/company so much and still use it.

There’s plenty I would like them to add/fix/change, but I know full well that there’s no point constantly complaining about it. Just live with it for now, hope it gets fixed (add/vote on feature requests) and save the stress.

Agreed. One of my main issues with the complaints in this forum is that it is a USER forum, with no regular participation of NDSP.

Why users complain to other users about NDSP is something I cannot understand.

I, for my part, do not feel responsible for any real or perceived shortcomings of the QC, or the fact that I still like this unit better than anything else on the market.

If their marketing and sales people are monitoring the discussions going on hear and on Discord and other forums then they REALLY need to do some house cleaning. I only wish when I was in such fields all my customers participated in such forums so I could monitor it.

Have to say I whole-heartedly agree, unless Neural up their game in a big way.
For this very reason I’ve just picked up a Headrush Core to try out. So far I’m not entirely sold on it but it does some things that most other modellers can’t do, such as save loops, and even assign playing a loop to a footswitch.

The frustration with NDSP is it would be so easy to improve the QC UI, add some of the amazing ‘quality of life’ improvements that some of us have been asking for, for years (such as being able to save loops to internal memory), yet they show little interest in doing so…

I doubt it has a screen, especially if they want to keep the price point low.

I also got a Core.

It’s ok.

I prefer the QC.

But where the Core is much much better than the QC is in the footswitches options.

Totally free asignaron. With just 5 footswitches you can have 20 scenes. And many more options.

One of them: you can control the blocks with the footswitches: you can select any of them, open it, select a parameter and increase or decrease its value from your stand up position, while playing, so you can fine tune it in a very nice way.

I tell all this just because all of it could be done with the QC.

My only complain with the QC is the footswitches restrictive options. If at least they were freely assignable and had the option of holding them to change to other mode or bank I’d be happy.

Oh, another complain is the unnecessary and obstructive Tap Tempo screen (never seen in the other modellers I’ve had: AX8, sold, Kemper Stage, sold, Headrush Gigboard, sold. Atomic Amplifre 6, I keep it and use it every week onstage for a few reasons. Headrush Core, I’ll probably sell it soon, and QC which I’m very sure I’ll keep).

Sorry but I saw a chance to tell all that and I did.

I agree, Neural can (and should) look at how restrictive the footswitch options are on the QC, especially when ‘lesser’ products are so much more capable in this area
