Show us your guitar(s)!

The Community forum category is “for general chat and Neural DSP announcements”, so hopefully it’s not out of line here, but…

Show us your guitar! Or whatever else you’re plugging in. Maybe talk about how you’re using it with NDSP hardware or plug-ins. Let’s keep it light and fun.

My main axe right now is this EGC500 Acrylic from Electrical Guitar Company. Thin polished aluminum neck with 25.11" scale length. Weighs just under 12 pounds, ouch.

Extra hot overwound Alnico pickups; humbucker in bridge and single-coil in the neck. For those interested, the aluminum imparts a slight clang when you hit the notes, but it’s not tinny at all. It’s an angry piano in guitar form.

Sweet! It’s got that Dan Armstrong vibe!

I think it’s pretty on brand in this case — I was at the Aristides factory last summer, and they had NDSP products in their showcase area. The team were incredibly welcoming, and I’m always happy to show off my kids (and good things come in threes, so I’m excited for the next build I’m deciding on):

2024 = “BLOOJ” for E-standard, 46-10s. Balanced EQ, and I really like this for leads because of how even it feels: neck position is clear and gets a pronounced pick ‘chirp’ and the bridge just adds that extra oomph, similar to how Marco Sfogli will engage his bridge pickup during lead passages. The V2 capture of the Super Bolt gets along nicely with this one, for grit and atmospheric stuff.

2025 (technically arrived a couple weeks ago): “SPARKLEBITCH” for D-standard, 11-48s. It sounds brighter than the raw 060, so this is definitely the rhythm tracking guitar. With a Friedman BE-100 capture, it’s the sound that I hear in my head when it comes to rhythm tracking.

I’m curious Nick — how does that extra .11” in the scale length feel? Noticeable enough for what you do? It looks amazing :exploding_head:

I don’t know why EGC does the 25.11" scale length. It’s squarely in between Gibson (24.75") and Fender (25.5").

Unsurprisingly, the EGC scale length feels right in between a Gibson (looser), and a Fender (tighter, snappier). It’s comfortable, and holds well if I tune down. Strings don’t flop around too much.

Those Aristides guitars are sick. I would love to order an 060 model someday.

Your custom Heritage looks beautiful! What’s the neck pup?

It is a custom local pup builder’s neck pup. It is like a PAF.

Here’s my custom build Voltur from Novo that is my main guitar. I love this guitar so much! The Lollar Staple P90 in the new sound awesome, even though I’m mostly on the bridge 99.99% of the time. The bridge is a Fralin Unbucker so it has coil split with a push-push on the tone knob. Still, I usually it mostly in the un-split mode of the humbucker, but it does some really nice single coil tones. I’m mostly higher gain (despite the Matchless in the background) with a Mesa Dual Rectifier Rev F of mine that I captured in QC and this guitar rips with it!

This is my other Novo, custom Solus. I recently put some aged nickel pickup covers on it though. Fralin Modern PAF’s in it, so it’s a little bit higher output.

My toys

Often use my QC through the Fender FR12 in the pic. I have profiled the amps in the pic as well but currently I use the Fortin Nameless plugin. These days I have another cab I use that is not in this pic (Peavey 412 with V30s I got out of a 90s Mesa Recto cab) with a power amp (Orange Pedal Baby 100).

Welp… we have a winner in the bass department. Looks like a stairway to heav… nevermind. Lovely collection that @xush

I also have to give you some praise for your “parallax grit” capture. It’s all I’ve been using for recording bass tracks lately, it’s really great :+1:

@xush, are you trying to tell us that you’re actually Les Claypool? Wow.

My 2 main guitars, the 335 is completely stock, The strat is a professional with a Vegatrem and a Monty’s PAF style humbucker

Thanks! So glad to hear something I did is actually useful!

@DiffractionCircuit : I wish! More of a LESS Claypool if anything.

Here’s a few weirdo skinny-strings:

Great thread! Love seeing all of these.

These are my top 3. Newest is the custom shop Strat I put a humbucker in the bridge. They roasted the heck out of it and it’s almost too resonant. I have to use a fretwrap with it but I love it.

love the PRS studio. I modded the silver sky to be HSH similar to a PRS special semi hollow. It turned out pretty well.
