Thanks!

It’s been getting ALL of the playtime since November.

Some very nice guitars in the posts above. Here are a few of mine (I tend to get the same model/make, for some reason):

Wow. Your wall of basses is crazy impressive but way over my head as a guitar player. They all look awesome though.

these “skinny strings” of your I find really interesting! I didn’t realize ovation made electrics! You’ve got quite an awesome collection of them. What period are they from?

thanks! Those are most of my handbuilt customs from FBB.

The wacky Ovation electrics are all from the mid-70s. They were the first American guitar company to develop and use active electronics. They are a pain to repair, but super-fun to play. They had some unusual endorsers at the time (Glen Campbell, the Partridge Family, Kiss…)

Here’s a couple more skinnies I enjoy recording with:

and some cheapo Danos I love:

The silver longhorn on the stair steps looks like it is perched quite precariously  I’m curious, have you ever had the opportunity to plan Wyn bass?

that was just for their photo op; the Guitarlin is usually safely racked in the recording nook.

I have played one Wyn that I came across for sale locally. I’ve drooled over plenty others online. That guy is a wood wizard!

Had the pleasure of meeting Randy and his wife Diana at NAMM 2011, and enjoyed a lovely tour of his creative space. He had such a unique philosophy for building instruments and if I played bass… man, they’d be the holy grail. Even on 5+ string instruments, those lower notes were so clear. Wizard indeed

Here’s the rest of the lineup. Need to figure out how to get less harsh lighting in the room.

Left to right:

  1. EGC500 Acrylic which I shared earlier

  2. “Quicksilver”: 2024 Warmoth silverburst Jazzmaster build with Aluminati neck and Fishman Fluence Modern pickups

  3. Fender American Professional II Jazzmaster in Miami Blue, with a Duncan Hot Jazzmaster pickup in the bridge. This guitar pairs perfectly with the Diezel channel 2 model in the QC.

  4. “Big Riff”: 2014-2015 Warmoth seafoam green Strat build with solid maple body (heavy), Floyd Rose, Duncan Dimebucker and Sustainiac pickups. Custom headstock decals including the satellite logo from the band Cave In.

Do you have a preference for which one you use for P&W? I’m a sucker for silverburst, and that guitar just looks like it would sound mean

The Warmoth silverburst guitar is definitely mean, but I included toggles for all of the Fluence Moderns’ sound modes so I have access to passive humbucker and single-coil sounds.

The Fender there is the most ready made for P&W music, though I try to drive it as hard as songs will allow. I bristle at the notion of “worship” becoming its own guitar style and sound, which feels milquetoast to me. But that’s a whole separate topic.

Separate topic indeed, yet one I agree with. On a separate note, I don’t see too many Warmoths in the wild, which is a shame — my experience is limited but of the 2 players I know that have had them, it’s been resoundingly positive. You spec nice stuff!
