Setting to keep the tuner opened while changing presets and scenes via MIDI

Since CorOS 2.1.0 the tuner can be activated/deactivated via specific MIDI CC values. That allows me to program the tuner for a silent guitar changeover between songs. So I activate the tuner for the muting function, switch the preset to the next song (both via MIDI), switch the guitar, check the tuning, and then deactivate the tuner via MIDI again.

I guess, since the update the tuner will be deactivated when changing the preset, maybe when changing scenes but I’m not sure about my last thought. I would like to see the tuner stay activated or a setting to configure that behavior.

This would be huge

Does this have an update? I would like to use it in the same way. My Ableton set switches presets for me, the tuner I engage and disengage with a midi switcher, but I would like the tuner kept on during the change in preset until I disengage it myself

Why not let Ableton do the preset switch and also the opening of the tuner screen afterwards. You then can change instruments and deactivate the tuner when you are ready to go with the preset needed for the upcoming song already loaded

Thanks for the message! That was how I was using it first, but I’ve found that it’s very hard to set a perfect timing for tuner to be turned off and on when playing live. There’s always something that comes up that changes this need. I also have songs in which it changes preset mid song and I need to change guitars. Best option for now is to manually turn it on and let Ableton switch it off, but it would be a handy update to be able to choose the behaviour of the tuner, whether or not it stays on during preset changes/setlist changes. Since it’s not a far fetched idea and would make my workflow a lot handier, since they’ve been so good at listening to the users, since I notice online I’m not the only one asking and I assume they can code this into an upcoming update, I would be a happy customer if they would apply this. Until then, or in the case they won’t, I work my way around it.

Hey guys, this feature is live since CorOS 2.3.0. I forgot to mark this thread as solved. You can look it up in the changelog:
