Has it been requsted to create V2 of amp models? Many of these were created since 6 years. And the modeling tech has advanced. And competitors are releasing newer models with the new technology.
Some amp and pedal models did get updated somewhere in the CorOS 2.X.X range; I remember that the Diezel VH4 channel models were among them.
Updating to a “V2” of amp models (not captures) is a trade-off; maybe some amp models would benefit from a refresh but it may certainly come at the expense of requiring a higher amount of CPU to operate.
Perhaps some of the recent amp updates were made by the V2 process- most of the latest ones are much more DSP-heavy than their predecessors. We don’t know for sure how they made them, or how long V2 has existed behind the scenes
But as they’ve explained (and I can verify by re-capturing some devices to compare)- V2 isn’t necessarily better than V1, just more specialized for specific situations.
“V2 is designed for the most dynamic and expressive devices, delivering the highest level of detail and feel.
Both formats are important. Capture V1 remains fast, efficient, and fully offline, and is ideal for most amps, transparent overdrives, and for building complex presets without worrying about CPU usage. Capture V2 is the specialist tool for devices where feel, dynamics, and response matter most.”
Guys thanks. Asked because i watched some youtube shoot outs between old QC amp models vs newer Axe or Agoura models. And the new models get declared the winner. But a more fair fight would be vs a newer QC model such as the dumble. To which the question are these models due for refresh. Like anything else over time stuff ages and can use overhaul.
The Little problem Is that White box tech can be updated in any time.
QC tech (black box MODELS) needs the entire repackage of the amp.
And yes..there is Tina but the process Is not so fast at the end.
