Reamp test, can someone help me?

I’m a new QC mini user. Unfortunately, my experience with it hasn’t been great – it sounds strangely dull and I hear strange high frequencies. I’m not sure if this is a problem with my unit or if all QCs sound the same. Can someone reamp my DI track using USB and the “EV101III Red” preset (2B)? Unfortunately guys from the support can’t help me with that, and this is quite strange…
Here is my DI https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j0jfOmPfUTgK7uYpbYOYfRi4vplsNFVP/view?usp=sharing

For me, this unit is the worst-sounding I’ve ever owned. I have a Kemper, I used to have a Headrush Core, and a Moer, and none of them sounded this bad. But maybe the CQ needs more work to sound better.

lol your ears must be better than Megadeth since they use QCs

You should write them a letter and ask them to reamp your DI track - obviously nothing is more important for the community than to sell you on QC

If you think you can’t get a useable tone of QC - it’s you my boy. If you have issues getting a tone - share a preset - share a recording. Do something constructive- ain’t no one got time to reamp a random dude’s tracks.

Very dependent on what settings you may have. Hard to say without any info. Should be pretty easy to dial in compared to original Helix, or Kemper.

It would be good to [also] upload a track with the amp sound you’re describing so other folks can hear what you’re hearing with your unit.

so can anyone reamp my DI track via USB using preset I mentioned above? Maybe I’m freaking out. Just I want to be sure my QC works properly.

Maybe upload the sound you’re hearing from the QC or your preset. Highly doubt it’s an issue with the unit. Every month there’s a person posting on here or other modeler forums with the same type of question since they’re new to figuring out how to use it.

The 5150 III Red channel has a TON of gain and gets muddy super fast (in real life as well). This can also be weird depending on the cab sim as well.

I’ll try to reamp it later tonight if I can get a few spare minutes.

How are you monitoring your QC? Headphones?

here is my result

This sounds about right with the amp model you mentioned (whether it’s a model or the real amp) and a lot of gain. Assuming it’s just a natural/rough take of you playing.

Lowering the gain and using a light overdrive to cut the flubbiness could help. Also trying another cab sim

I would also suggest a low/hi cut to remove some muddiness.

That’s a ton of gain in the amp, but it doesn’t sound like anything is wrong with your QC.

Using an existing preset can get you in the ballpark but very often it’s not going to sound ideal with your guitar, pickups, tuning, playing style, listening environment, etc.

Gain, EQ, and maybe IR / cab sim tweaks (as others have said) will make all the difference.

The tone sounds absolutly right and pritty good to my ears.

Either you have a wrong idea how it should sound like or there is something wrong with your monitoring system / connection to the QC.
