Quad Cortex to Control Mainstage / MIDI

Hey friends,

Anybody have any useful links to share in the regards to using the QC as a midi device, simultaneously to using it as a floor modeler?

In an effort to reduce the size of my multi-instrumental setup, I’m wanting to ditch the use of a separate midi controller for controlling Mainstage. And if possible, ditch the use of a separate interface from my laptop.

How I’m currently doing this:
QC as a 2in/2out modeler to run Saxophone (mono) + Guitar (mono).

Separate MIDI controller for triggering samples from laptop (out via separate 2/2 interface), and to control Mainstage for patch changes on keyboard/EWI.

How I want to use the QC:
QC as a 4in/4out modeler to run Saxophone (mono), Guitar (stereo), + Vocal mic (mono), PLUS…

QC replacing the above MIDI controller functions; triggering samples + executing patch changes in Mainstage.

QC replacing the above interface, if possible?

Any help is appreciated!

It can be done, I use it similarly with Loopy Pro instead of MainStage and I run 2 vocals, 1 guitar and 1 stomp box.
The only downside is that the MIDI implementation in QC is still a bit clunky.
You can send out a lot of MIDI messages with any preset change and foot switch press, so triggering MainStage is not a problem.
Although MIDI messages are kinda hard assigned to foot-switches per preset , so wether you are on stomp mode or scenes, each time you press a certain foot switch it will send those MIDI messages.
And foot-switches that are not assigned to any stomp or scene cannot be labeled yet so you end with a grey square on gig view(looks like it might change with CorOS 3.1 but I’m not sure) that means you have to memorise what each foot switch is meant to do.
So what you are asking it’s possible but it will require some careful planning
