@carl , indeed, @xush is right. My Helix Rack does this automatically: when only one cable is plugged in, the signal chain, if it is stereo, is summed up to a mono signal in the end, so that ping pong delays and other stereo setups are not missing anything. This is not the best way to do it: it can lead in some cases to phasing issues, but it is better than having to always have 2 versions of my setlists: one stereo if the venue actually reads my band’s rider, and one mono if, as in 90% of the cases, the venue does not read the rider and gives me one XLR plug.
