A BIG “THANK YOU” to the NDSP team! I can’t wait to use/control my X plugins ON the QC! Great job!
I AM however disappointed that with this update we’re still waiting for independent, on/off midi control for each block. Why aren’t we seeing this? Forcing everything into the 8 switches is ridiculously frustrating. I DO love the small footprint of the QC but in a live situation the switches are just too close together so I’ve been looking for a midi foot-switch controller to use instead (i.e. controlling the QC remotely). 8 scenes is just NOT enough for an “on-the-fly” performance. I want to put ALL the blocks I need on the grid and program say…24 scenes + looper. Realistically, 3 amps (clean, crunch, solo) X 2 reverbs X 2 delays X chorus X tremolo X compression X (maybe) stomp OD, pretty basic stuff, CANNOT be done with 8 switches/scenes! I DO currently have the QC itself set up as stomps and another midi switcher (Airstep) set up to control my QC amps via scenes but I’m still find myself doing the “pedal dance” when switching back and forth…either that or I just say “screw it” and use a clean and OD sounds (I can do that with an amp and OD pedal! WTF?)
So, I’ll offer a BIG, THUMBS UP! to NDSP for giving us a great sounding device and ask once again (like I started doing 2 years ago) for on/off midi control of each block (PLEASE!!!)
How are you able to have both the QC work for stomps, and a midi foot switch just for scenes?? Unless you’re just using hybrid mode and the midi controller is controlling four of the switch on the QC itself, since I am pretty sure you can’t have 8 stomps and 8 scenes open at once.
You can get the midi controller to first change to scene mode, then select a specific scene, and after that switch back to stomp mode - if I’m not mistaken. A midi controller that can send multiple midi commands per press is needed tho.
im not really interested in plini or gojira, is there a timeline for the other plugins? i would really like to get the rabea one
Well , its going to be a brave new world,
As Mr. Doubtfire once said " Euphegenia, brace yourself"…
batch 2: Fortin Nameless and Soldano SLO-100
batch 3: Parallax and Nolly
no word on anything past this, but the synth from Rabea is visible in the videos they posted today, so either it’s coming separate from the plugin, or that X version isn’t TOO far away
ohhh, yeah I’m good with that haha. Switching modes on the QC mid song seems like a nightmare
Correct, I use the Airstep to send multiple CC’s, taking the QC from Stomp to Scene then back.
I’m debating which one to get… all I really want is that Rabea synth. I’ve found my fav core tones using captures.
The Synth block in the video doesn’t have the little label that says it’s from a plugin, fingers crossed is just a QC own synth block. In the video Rabea also mention very recent additions to the firmware, there’s a chance there might be a couple of functions that were not announced.
I am aware I am getting my hopes up and probably all this is not happening, but one can dream
Yep a timeline on X plugins would be a good thing.
Boogie Mark IIC+ here (Amazing)
I’m looking at the Boogie Mark IIC+ also.
I wouldn’t have hopes up like that but as you can see in my pictures profile, I can’t wait too for the synth block that has been teased from the very begining of the QC !!
Same that’s why I already have the Rabea plugin, and now I don’t know what free plugin to get
Just wondering how much dsp will the Rabea synth require.
Running on a PC/Mac easy loads of horsepower can the Quad cortex even run it? I don’t know so this is a question for those who will know before i choose my free plugin.
There’s video of it on the QC in the Sweetwater video, so it can definitely run on it. Not sure what the DSP load will be. It’s monophonic, so that probably helps keep it manageable
Thanks i’ll check it out.
Hmm. It says “mono synth”. And not “rabea synth”…
Very interesting indeed. If this came with an update and not mandatorily from the plugin, then maybe I should get one of the other plugins…
Oh the possibilities!!
