I have 2 QSC K.10 monitors and they both have been tested and work fine. When I connect my Quad directly to the QSC it sounds terribly muffled. EQ wouldn’t fix this issues. I reset the QSC speakers, I tried low cut and different presets to no avail. When I connect my Quad to a different PA system into a channel strip on a mixer the QUAD sounds as it should. Does anyone have any tips or experience with this?
One possibility is the preamp on the PA’s mixer channel might be making up for some level issues that aren’t being compensated for when connecting directly to the QSCs.
Some things I might check:
- Check the setting under Settings → ‘Device Options’ → ‘Master Volume knob assignment’. Make sure it is assigned to the outputs you intend.
- Check master volume knob setting on the QC.
- Check Output volume settings on the I/O page.
- Make sure your QSC K.10 monitors are configured in the menu for line level.
- Check for bad cables.
Hmm, I’ve never ran my QC into any speakers without going through a mixer first. I can try if you want to see if I get similar results. I’m thinking that the QC is not outputting a hot enough of a signal for your QSC. You can try emailing support. They’re pretty quick.
Im having similar issues, will buy a Fender FRFR to try it , otherwise I keep it for the vocals, but trough my Boss Katana , the sound is not sharp as it should be.
At home I connect to a Behringer active speaker (not FRFR) and it translates the sound very well. This was how I setup my QC at home - at gig levels sounds and feels the same to me.
