QC with Kemper over MIDI anyone?

I am thinking of using QC as primary device and Kemper Player as secondary.

To make smooth switch in case of “equipment failure”, QC could send MIDI messagto to Kemper. It will keep it that wayon same/similar tone.

Anybody experimented with that?

How about the MIDI connection? What works? USB? MIDI to US B interface?

Any input appreciated.

Pretty sure the QC doesn’t send midi via USB, so you’d have to connect them with the normal midi connections.

BUT, if you’re QC is down, it isn’t gonna be sending midi to your Kemper, so I wouldn’t rely on that as a backup solution…..

If the kemper is a back up device, then maybe a midi controller that sends parallel commands to both devices.

The way I see it work is that I will be using QC as main device. QC will also be sending MIDI messages to Kemper. That way they will be on the “same” tone/scene/preset all the time (synchronized ). If QC goes down for some reason - I could just press the button (separate) to re-direct input and output to another device.

I have considered it, but ran out of room on my pedalcase.

I have QC, Kemper Player, expression pedal wireless (GLXD16) and Furman power supply….and a small switch that activates detuning on QC……….and a bit larger switch to change inputs and outputs between QC and Kemper running the show.

If youre interested, i use the luminite graviton m1 (BT midi) and the little remotes that I attach to cheap money clips that I clip to my guitar strap, basically 12 buttons and 2 expression knobs that take the space of a credit card.
