QC audio interface output setting

Do you know how to route the output from Kontakt to output 3/4 when using the Quad Cortex as just an audio interface? It seems that when selecting the Quad Cortex through ASIO, the sound is forced to output through output 1/2. I can’t seem to find any settings panel anywhere. help me

I don’t think that’s possible at all. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

are you using Kontakt in standalone mode or in a DAW? I commonly route Logic Channels back to the QC, but I haven’t done it directly from VSTs or other plugins.
I’m more familiar with routing Kontakt as a plugin.

Macs allow you to assign output channels for main audio, I think I’ve read that may be trickier on PCs and in some cases may not be possible. Not positive though.

I find using an Asio driver I can get access to the ins and outs in the standalone config, not available with the Neural driver. However why not just use it as a vst and let your DAW do the routing?

Sorry for the lack of explanation. I was curious about when using the standalone version of Kontakt (and I assume this applies to other standalone VSTs as well). While I’m aware that routing is easier when using a DAW, is there a particular reason why Neural DSP has made it impossible to change the output channels when using ASIO in standalone mode? The user manual and forums do not specify why the output is locked to channels 1+2. Normally, this would be something adjustable through the ASIO config or driver settings. Thank you for your response."

Since I can use Neural DSP as the audio driver in the standalone version, sometimes I just don’t want to deal with loading a DAW because it feels like overkill. I hadn’t thought about using a different ASIO driver, but it’s good to know there’s a workaround. Still, I’m wondering why they didn’t include an option to switch output channels directly. For people who don’t use the 1+2 outputs, it can be a hassle. I figured it could be as simple as adding a toggle button in Cortex Control or the ASIO config on the PC, but it looks like there’s no way to do that. Thanks for the reply!"

There is such a toggle, page 2 of the i/o if I recall correctly.

yep. i tried it but it’s not really related to the output of the standalone VST.
