I’ve used the QC since 2023, and I’ve encountered a few ergonomic annoyances which have (mostly) been solved. ie. Tuner/Tap Tempo swap, Gig View on footswitches. However, one thing is still tripping myself (and fellow QC users I’ve spoken to).

The number of times I’ve added a stomp or scene to footswitch D, and then accidentally changed presets completely, or ended up in that unintuitive red/green footswitch state is… countless!

I know people who’ve used cable ties to completely disable the footswitch travel. But, I do like the functionality of it. Just when footswitches are so close together, it makes it incredibly difficult to be usable.

My suggestion is to add an option in settings to press and hold the preset buttons for functionality (or something akin).

We just had the same request pop up a few days ago:

In order to protect from accidental preset change please add the ability to only change presets when next/previous preset footswitch is held for custom ms length. Or please provide a means to lock to one preset disabling preset change with footswitch.

I’ve been playing with a Helix Stadium for a few days now and the implementation of the secondary functions for the Mode foot switches in particular is absolutely outstanding. Firstly there is a dedicated button to change Modes. Anyone who has read any of my previous posts here knows that I think the way Mode switching on the QC is implemented is deeply flawed; anything that can be prone to error is NOT good for live use, and anything that requires a simultaneous combination of footswitch press…

Let’s hope for the best! I’m enjoying and using my QC as-is anyway, and I really do love the presets option. If they improve the MIDI/footswitch programmability, I feel like they’ll be in another league compared to the rest of the modelers out there.
