Power Supply Recommendations

Hi folks:)

I am currently building my first Pedalboard setup and I am trying to keep it as minimalistic as possible by putting my Quad Cortex and DVP5 Expression Pedal from Dunlop onto a Metro 16 Pedalboard. Since the Dunlop Pedal doesn’t require any power it is only the Quad Cortex that needs to be powered. I am currently looking for a Power Supply which will fit underneath the Metro 16 Pedalboard and has everything already built into it so that I’m basically only required to have just a single cable without a charger brick in between running out of my Pedalboard directly into an outlet. I am familiar with the CIOKS power supplies, but was hoping maybe for a more budget friendly option.

Hi there, I’m very new to QC and pedalboard and I’m looking to build one too.

But I’m wondering why would you need another power supply ? If the DVP5 doesn’t need power, can’t you just use the original cable supply from the QC ?

I could use the original power supply, but I would like everything to be tucked underneath the Pedalboard with just a single cable sticking out of it without the bulky brick. Don’t ask me why, doesn’t have anything to do with functionality, just sheer aesthetics :joy:.

Sweetfoot makes a good power supply and will make it to your specs. I was the first person to get one for the QC and still works great. I have even older ones for HX stomp and HX Effects pedals and they still work great.

That is an interesting Freudian slip there, and I’d definitely agree on the “mashed” part.
He mashed the heck out of the 2 defective ones he sold me.

I bought the power supply from amazon as well, but went with a Harley Benton Powersupply that has a Ac thru. Harley Benton PowerPlant ISO-1AC Pro Modular – Musikhaus Thomann

It works like a charme with a polarity converter cable from Rockboard.

the Powerbank also powers my guitar wireless system.

This whole setup costs me arround 80€.

Have you tried Canvas Power Supplies from Walrus Audio? They have the Canvas Power HP, which I use, and it’s excellent…compact and not too expensive.

If the aesthetics of the OEM wall wart adapter are not to your liking and you don’t need to power anything other than the QC, then you don’t need a pedalboard power supply like Cioks. You can simply buy a 12V in-line transformer adapter with IEC wall cord outlet and 2.1mm barrel connector for the QC. Best to buy 3.0A or greater (even though a 2.0A would suffice) and if you can get it with center negative that would be directly compatible with the QC, otherwise just add a reverse polarity adapter. Since you have a Metro 16, you need an adapter with max height of 1.25 inches (I have a Metro 16 also) and you can simply attach the transformer to the underside in the same way that you would attach a regular pedalboard power supply (Duo-Lock, small brackets, zip ties, etc.). Look for something like this:
