Playback of downloaded captures and pre-listening of captures in the Neural cloud

Hi, I’m new here and I recently bought my Nano Cortex. I have a few questions and I’d really appreciate it if someone with more experience could help me with them.

1- First, I’d like to ask if anyone else has experienced this: when testing a capture for a preset from the download library, and then when they select “use” to accept it, the EQ is slightly modified compared to what it was during the test before assigning that capture to the preset?

2- I can’t seem to get a Neural Cloud capture to play when I click the play icon, before downloading it to my library. I have two TRS cables connected from the Nano Cortex’s outputs to my two KRK Classic 5 monitors.

3- Finally, considering there isn’t a master output volume to configure for each individual preset, what would be the best way to level the volume with the other presets without changing the EQ of the preset itself? Should I adjust the capture volume or the IR volume? Thanks in advance for everything!

  1. No, can’t say. Is it something you hear or is it values on the bass, mid or treble that is moving?
  2. Previewing using the “play” button should work. This temporary switches to the capture you selected and keeps the rest of the signal chain intact.
  3. Capture volume is the only good option imho. Actual volume from a capture varies a lot especially user captures. V2 captures have a way more nominal output = less tweaking and easier to preview.

First, thanks for replying. And yes, it’s like the bass deflates once I assign the capture to the preset; it sounds better before I press “use.” Regarding testing the capture without downloading it, that might have been a silly mistake on my part. I understand, then, that I should press play and play my guitar, correct?
I understand about the volume of the captures, but for now, I’ll have no other option than to try to match the volumes to the capture volume or the IR volume. I use the Nano to download captures since I don’t have any real amplifiers to record with. Thanks again, and best regards!

When you test the capture, do you test it the exact same context (presets, pedals, etc.)?

Yes, it might just be my perception, but yes, I’m just switching between different screenshots. On the other hand, yesterday I was able to play the screenshots without downloading them and it worked; it was just my mistake.
