Hi,
Why are all Neural amps and captures not phase aligned by default, including plugins? I’m using factory amps and cabs and while I can use the phase doctor, it seems like borderline negligence on Neural’s part to not make fixed phase alignment testing part of all new models, plugins, or Neural captures.
As context, I’m a new user coming from the Fractal community. Keeping my fractal, but it’s too heavy for my fly rig and I’d like to shrink the board. Fractal, this is a default feature, everything is phase aligned and pretty much auto corrects if you happen to load an IR that is not.
I use parallel amps summed to mono quite a lot in my prior fractal patches and, while I can get there with Phase Doctor, it would go a long way to the usability of the ecosystem to just correct this problem for all Neural created models/captures. I do not expect this to be possible for user generated captures, but again, the tools in the fractal world are significantly better at viewing, testing, and correcting phase issues

All of the different kinds of amp models–amp blocks, plug-in blocks, V1 and V2 captures–have different amounts of CPU loads. It’s weird to assume that they will just automatically be in phase when you stick them in parallel with each other.
People wanted phase alignment capability, and we got that in the Phase Doctor. Huge win for everyone when it was introduced. I don’t see a problem.

some of my favourite sounds come from being out of phase, I wouldn’t want all models etc to be “phase corrected” by default, especially if they’re modelled on something that originally altered the phase of the signal.
one of my favourite rack overdrive (chandler/BK Butler Tube Driver) flips phase on one output (instrument out) and not on the other(buffered line out); my favourite bass overdrive sound comes from running the out of phase signal in parallel with my main bass sound, scoops out some frequencies in a really pleasing way.
I don’t think Fractal automatically fixes phase alignment on their own…I know there the option to shift things to correct phase but I highly doubt all their amps have the same exact phase relationship. The phasing also depends on the distortion of the signal, tuning, mic used for the IR, etc…..

Fractal most certainly does phase align all factory amps and cabs.
regarding liking the out of phase sound, sure, but then use the pass doctor for that rather than fixing models which aren’t aligned?
