Option to Turn Off LCD Screen While Keeping Unit Active

Hi Neural DSP team,

I’ve recently started using the Quad Cortex Mini as my primary audio interface and overall it’s been excellent.

One thing I’ve noticed, however, is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to turn off the LCD screen independently while keeping the unit fully operational. The only available option is full standby mode, which disables audio input/output entirely.

For users like myself who are running the Quad Cortex for extended periods (e.g. as an interface at a desk), it would be really helpful to have an option to:

  • Turn off the screen completely, or

  • Enable an auto-sleep function after a period of inactivity

This would help:

  • Reduce unnecessary power usage

  • Minimise long-term screen wear/burn-in

  • Create a cleaner, less distracting workspace

A simple toggle in settings or an automatic timeout feature would go a long way.

Also, one further thing would be a simple screen colour temperature and tint adjustment, i.e. being able to make the screen warmer, cooler, more green, or more magenta. This would be fantastic for people like myself who have sensitive eyes towards certain colours.

Would love to see these features considered in a future update.

Thanks for your consideration.

James

Welcome. We already have a couple of requests for a screen off mode, each of them with a sizeable number of votes. If screen-off is implemented for the QC, then it follows that the Mini would get this function as well since CorOS is the same for both. Check these out:

Thanks for the reply. I can see some of these requests are almost 3 years old and it doesn’t seem that they have been developed or implemented.

Is there any news or update if it is actually going to come out? It seems like such a simple thing to just have a screen off function but would really make a big difference and help a lot of people out. So is there any news on if this will actually be done?

Welcome and please remember to utilize the search function prior to submitting new feature requests to avoid unnecessary duplication. Thanks!

Also, new features will be announced here and on all NDSPs socials, otherwise stay tuned to NDSP news page as well.
