Nano Cortex: It would be great to have more than 2 effect slots pre-amp

Hello, I love the Nano Cortex 2.0 as it has a lot of effects one can use to shape their tone. It would be great to have more than 2 effects slots before the amp. E.g., if one wants to use two overdrives and then wants to add a compressor or an EQ, there is no room. If the 2-lost limit is due to CPU, I wonder if one could choose to trade off some of the post-amp slots to have more pre-amp slots. E.g., currently we have 2 pre and 3 post. But what if one wants 3 pre and 2 post, or 5 pre and 0 post? -Thanks!

Essentially you have the Nano and the Quad Cortex which is the bigger brother. The QC would be needed/used if more options are needed (e.g. advanced routing, additional FX and advanced signal chain building etc.).

The whole concept of the Nano’s pre-defined slots is wacky to me. 2 Pre slots, 1 capture slot, 1 IR loader slot, and then 3 post effect slots. NanOS 2.0.0 doubles down on this and offers new effects blocks–but only in those pre-defined slots.

It would have been much more simple if Neural freed up the signal chain. “The Nano has up to 7 slots available, do with them what you will.”

Eso haría que estuviera muy cerca de la QC, no se si llegarán a tanto. Pero desde luego sería un puntazo. A mi me molesta bastante no poder ordenar todos los preset, solo poder ordenar los que se ponen en las 4 ranuras del pedal.

I know the QC has all this, but there is a huge difference in size and practicality… and I did not mention the price. I used to own the QC. Too big. NC is much better for me. Its not asking for more slots, which is likely hitting a physical limit in CPU. It’s just asking flexibility in the management of the CPU to match one’s personalized need.

This post from the mod makes it seem intentional to push buyers to the QC.

Like saying NC is only introductory like a pod express vs hx stomp instead of hx stomp vs helix.

I went the other way. After 3 great years with the quad I downsized to the nano. It is perfect for me, so I think it depends on your needs

Trust me, the market for QC and NC is well-separated. Not many people are in the QC vs NC dilemma since they are very different products in terms of size and price range.
